Katherine D’Arcy has international management experience in corporate affairs, investor relations, marketing, and communications, as well as community and socially responsible programming, through senior roles in financial services, oil and gas exploration and development, aviation, and other industries. Currently, she is responsible for managing thought leadership content for international channels at an asset management firm. She freelances in her spare time, everything from annual reports to speeches, and bylines.
Adept at living and working outside the US, she has traveled to more than 60 countries. She earned her M.B.A. from UCLA’s John E. Anderson School of Management, her B.A. from Wellesley College in English Literature, and her Accreditation as a Certified Investor Relations Officer, from the Middle East Investor Relations Society in the UAE. She is currently a student in the MFA creative writing program at SNHU and is working on her first novel.
Katherine D’Arcy’s long-anticipated debut novel is expected to be released in 2025. Sweet and Not Fattening explores revenge in a first-person narrative told by the idealistic young daughter of a man deliberately and slowly destroyed by his once best friend.
In the meantime, Katherine ghostwrites investment advice columns published in Hong Kong, Latin America, and the US, as she directs offshore and international marketing for an asset management firm. She has also written blogs, policy, annual reports, letters to the editor, speeches, video and podcast scripts, marketing plans, and short stories. In her next career, she aspires to write travel articles to channel her affinity for the work of Anthony Bourdain, Indiana Jones, Malibu Barbie, and Thomas Hoving into remunerative gigs.
With an undergraduate degree in English literature and an MBA focused on marketing, she lived and worked in Asia and the Middle East, as well as both US coasts. She returned to school late in life to get an MFA in Creative Writing to write well, and a WSET Basic understanding of wine to drink better. She mostly lives with her younger adult daughter and Max, a white labradoodle, in Santa Fe with opera and art, and she winters in San Jose del Cabo with beaches and ceviche. She considers herself a serially unsuccessful online dater lacking rizz and out for revenge.
